San Diego calls itself America’s finest city, and so for a reason. The city also claims to have the most perfect weather in all of America. It’s the country’s 8th largest city and one of the most laid back ones. San Diego is called as the birthplace of California. The natural deep water beaches and the extensive happening beaches here make this one of the coolest place with an amazingly beautiful skyline in the country. There is hardly any snowing here, the city remains warm and pleasant throughout the year. The city also has a happening sports scene with three NFL Super Bowls having been held here so far. The local craft beer industry in San Diego grows more and more happening by the day, making San Diego the ‘Craft Beer Capital of America’. It also has the second largest cruise ship industry in California offering lovely sightseeing cruises, as well as whale watching cruises. San Diego is undoubtedly the destination for the most unforgettable vacation you will ever have.
Museums are abundantly housed in San Diego, with the most famous ones being the likes of Old Town State Historic Park, USS Midway Museum, Maritime Museum, New Children’s Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Mingel International Museum, California Surf Museum, San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego Air and Space Museum, etc. A visit to Lego Land, Balboa Park, and to Sea World is an absolute must when in San Diego. Mission Beaches and Pacific Beaches are the best beaches in San Diego. The Spreckels Organ Pavilion is also an interesting attraction to visit, being said to be the world’s largest outdoor musical instrument. Every Sunday at 2PM a free concert is organized here. The Museum of Making Music is also a must visit.
If the beach is your love, then stay close to the Ocean Beach, but if you can’t live without trendy bars, stay somewhere in Gaslamp Quarter. If you are a foodie wanting to stay in close proximity to restaurants, try staying in Coronado. Staying at the Mission Bay would also be a good idea.
San Diego has miles and miles of white sand beaches, so needless to say, don’t forget to carry your beach gear here. The winters are mild, the summers are dry, it rains mostly between December to March. So carry the clothing according to the weather. There are only about 42 rainy days here on an average.
San Diego possesses a number of sports teams, it might be a good idea to avoid being in town when a major sporting event is happening so as to avoid crowds and expensive fares and food and boarding.
