10 Most Popular Adult Activities in Disney World

Top 10 Things that Adults Can Do and Enjoy in Disney World

Walt Disney World is dubbed as the most magical destination in the world. Most people associate the theme parks, stores, and other attractions that Disney World offers with children. However, did you know that there are many hidden treasures for adults as well?

While you are planning a vacation for your family, take note of a few of the adult entertainment and activities that you can indulge in without kids around you.

Here is the list of 10 amazing things that adults can enjoy in Disney World.

1. EPCOT Activities

Two EPCOT activities await you at Disney World. You can go for the EPCOT Drinking Around the World or EPCOT Challenge Around the World. In the first EPCOT activity, you need to drink beverages from 11 countries that are part of Epcot’s World Showcase while in the second one, you will be able to enjoy food specialty from 11 countries. Both are fun and challenging as you drink and eat and just learn to let down your hair.

2. Spa Day

If you have had a tiring year of taking kids to school and after-school activities and then rushing to work, you may want complete relaxation. You deserve it! You can spend time at the Saratoga Springs Resort or the Grand Floridian Resort for a spa day that will ensure rest and relaxation like never before. Aromatherapy, body wraps, massages, and fruit facials will detox and rejuvenate you.

3. Jungle Cruise

You cannot leave Disney World without going for a Jungle Cruise. While the cruise is for every age, it is best enjoyed without the company of kids. You will go through the Amazon, African Congo, the Mekong River, and the Nile in the middle of Disney World along with other adults and a guide that loves to make bad jokes and puns. However, the experience is worthwhile.

4. Extra Magic Hours

One of the issues with Disney World is that you have to stand for hours to gain entry to rides. However, if you make use of Disney’s Extra Magic Hours, you don’t have to stand in a queue and there will be no kids. So, you can let down your hair and enjoy rides that you always wanted to experience. Usually, Extra Magic Hours are either early morning, before the park opens, or late night, after the park closes.

5. Find the Hidden Mickeys

Imagineers hid Mickeys in the 70s and 80s as a joke while the Epcot was being designed. However, very soon it became a tradition. Today, adults see it as a challenge to find the hidden Mickeys around Disney World. Some Mickeys are in plain sight while others furtively hidden. It is a fun and enjoyable activity.

6. Head Over to Jellyrolls

Put the kids into bed and request your hotel for a babysitter. Then head out to Jellyrolls, which is a dueling piano bar. Make sure you eat something before you head out as the place does not serve food. Also, grab a table by reaching the venue at 7pm. By 9pm, the place is packed and guests can merely stand and enjoy themselves.

7. Raglan Road

If you have never visited an authentic Irish pub, Raglan Road is the one for you. The pub was built in Ireland and then shipped to America. Here, you can enjoy traditional Irish food, like fish and chips and shepherd’s pie as you see a toe-tapping performance by Irish bands and dancers.

8. Disney Keys to the Kingdom Tour

Enjoy a five-hour long walking tour to get a peek at what goes on behind the scenes. This tour allows you to access hidden areas and also visit underground tunnels that are otherwise restricted to Disney World visitors. There are other behind the scenes tours that you can opt for, including the Backstage Magic Tour, which lasts for seven hours, and Backstage Tales Tours that allow you to meet the 1,500 animals that live in Disney World.

9. Rock ‘N Roller Coaster

A fair warning - this activity is not for adults with a weak stomach! This indoor rollercoaster ride features Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios and takes you a stomach-churning 60 miles an hour in a stretched limo through loops and curves like never before.

10. Disney Springs

If you want something beyond rides and Disney characters, head out to Disney Springs. It is a waterfront district where you can enjoy retail therapy, go bowling, enjoy live music, watch a movie or eat some delicious food at one of the four outdoor neighborhoods, namely Town Center, The Landing, West Side, and Marketplace.

There you have it - the 10 things you can enjoy as an adult without feeling silly and embarrassed when you visit Disney World with your kids or on your own.
