There is a good chance of spotting whales either way, and they may include belugas, minkes, blue whales, fin whales, and humpback whales. However, boat tours and zodiac trips cease operations at the end of October. Tour guides aren't kidding when they tell you to wear warm clothing, even in summer. A winter coat, hat, and gloves are highly recommended for the water because the temperatures can get very cold.
